SOME RECENT PROJECTS

DECISIONING DASHBOARDS

LARGE PRIVATE EQUITY FUND

In this design-led project, our team of 2 XDs delivered dev-ready, fully interactive Figma prototypes for a series of purpose-built dashboards to help PE decision makers visualize KPIs and other metrics in powerful new ways.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Design-led requirements gathering
  • Data visualization innovation & testing
  • Figma variable-driven interactions for high-fidelity prototyping
  • FE build recommendations (charting & UI libraries: Highcharts & Flutter)
  • Release prioritization strategy
  • Usability & hypothesis testing with actual scenarios / various user groups
IMPACT

  • Client has returned for additional projects
  • Final prototypes received by end-users with tremendous enthusiasm & excitement
  • Inspired new ideas for similar initiatives in other departments
  • I was nominated for a Customer Impact Award by our lead client sponsor
FEEDBACK

"It's been great working with Tyn and team - it's been an eye-opening experience for what a great software design process can be."

- Managing Director (Client)

OPERATIONS INTELLIGENCE DASH &
VISUAL DATA EDITOR

GLOBAL GEOINFORMATICS, TELEMETRY, AND ASSET MANAGEMENT CORPORATION

In this multidisciplinary discovery, our small but mighty team helped untangle years of complex workarounds (in the highly technical geoinformatics and telemetry domain) to design an efficient, performant, and trustworthy set of workflows for an industry-leader feeling held back by aging infrastructure.

Leveraging the client's tremendous data set, we proposed using ML to reduce redundant work, improve the accuracy of multiple processes through algo-driven UI feedback, and offer a variety of fresh ideas, UI improvements, and dashboards to help them learn to trust eachother and their systems: which we learned rather quickly, was the true problem we needed to solve.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Led 4 weeks of in-person research, ideation, and design refinement workshops
  • Developed glossary and held learning sessions for our team to better grasp a highly complex domain
  • Collaborated with multiple global client teams to integrate learnings and converge on patterns across departments and applications
  • Discovered and evaluated several design systems initiatives for potential use

IMPACT

  • Client is currently in process of overhauling foundational infrastructure for next steps
  • Our team's work was recognized by our client sponsor and we were recommended to HQ for futher/global partnership
  • Found the limit of how many stickies you can have on a Miro
FEEDBACK

"Tyn's ability to efficiently process new information and read it back to the client was instrumental to us getting a baseline understanding of the complex geoinformatics domain and gaining the client's trust."

REFINED PERSONAS, MICROSURVEYS,
& AI SENTIMENT ANALYSIS FOR IMPROVED RETENTION

HEALTHCARE STAFFING AGENCY

In this large, multi-pod program, our nimble team was able to pivot confidently numerous times as discoveries led us in different directions. By centering a healthcare worker's context and motivations, we designed and delivered a shockingly simple, yet tremendously effective micro survey (placed in appropriate contexts) that saved recruiters tons of time, helped nurses feel empowered and secure in their roles, and provided fresh, valuable, and strategic data to business stakeholders looking to better understand a rapidly shifting target market.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Conducted extensive first-, second-, and third party research
  • Facilitated regular design+product workshops which helped shape product vision for the Retention team
  • Adapted in-app micro-survey MVP for use in omni-channel retention campaigns
  • Refactored and expanded upon existing Figma design library & design system
  • Designed, iterated, and tested UI components for content, complexity, placement, and timing
  • Initiated an AI-driven sentiment analysis project to help consolidate, refine, and pull insights from a massive collection of existing transcripts, interviews, and market research activities
  • Collaborated with marketing to streamline communications

IMPACT

  • Identified a strategically significant persona model that allows for better optimization of UX & CX journeys
  • Collaborated with program leadership to streamline system-wide functionalities and communication touchpoints
  • Helped unite and align siloed client teams (e.g. recruiting and marketing) by identifying common KPIs and streamline messaging
  • After initial MVP delivery, our micro-survey was selected for continued investment due to effectiveness
  • Participated in setup of Figma Token Studio-to-Storybook-to-code automation
FEEDBACK

"Tyn has been a stellar partner with User Research. A strategic thinker, she has a gift for asking the right questions to surface the insights we need. She is a wonderful collaborator and helped us sync our metrics and language so the same data points could be tracked across different projects by multiple teams."

- UX Research Director (Slalom)
